Junior HR Advisor

Location: West Midlands
Salary: Up to £28,840
Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term
Working Pattern: Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior HR Advisor to join an established HR team within a successful and growing organisation. Working as part of the HR Operations function, you'll provide day-to-day support across a broad range of HR processes, acting as a first point of contact for employee and manager queries.

The role has a particular focus on HR compliance and administration, supporting areas such as Right to Work checks, visa sponsorship, DBS and other regulatory checks, alongside wider employee lifecycle processes. You'll play an important part in ensuring HR processes are completed accurately and within agreed timescales, whilst helping to maintain high standards of compliance and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR operational support, acting as a first point of contact for employee and manager queries through the HR inbox.
  • Support HR compliance activities, including Right to Work checks, visa sponsorship, DBS/PVG checks and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring documentation is processed and updated in line with internal procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle processes, including contractual changes, family-friendly leave, employee benefits and payroll-related administration.
  • Liaise with managers and internal teams, including Payroll, Recruitment and Finance, to ensure HR processes are completed within agreed deadlines.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of HR processes, policies and procedures, helping to deliver an efficient and consistent HR service.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within HR Administration, HR Operations or a similar HR support role.
  • Some knowledge of HR compliance processes, ideally including Right to Work, DBS checks, visa sponsorship or other regulatory requirements.
  • An understanding of general HR processes, such as employee records, contractual changes and family-friendly leave.
  • Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and respond to queries from employees and managers.
  • Comfortable working with HR systems and Microsoft Office, with the ability to pick up new systems and processes.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards one would be desirable.
