Qualified Forensic Accountant
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

About the Role
We are seeking a Qualified Forensic Accountant to join a growing team in Kettering. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile assignments, providing forensic accounting support, valuations, and dispute analysis for a variety of clients. You will play a key role in uncovering financial irregularities, analysing complex data, and supporting legal proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis
  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial records, transactions, and statements to identify discrepancies, fraud, or misconduct.
  • Utilise forensic accounting techniques to trace funds, uncover hidden assets, and detect financial manipulation.
Valuations
  • Assist in the preparation and review of valuation models and reports for clients across multiple sectors.
  • Conduct research to support valuation assumptions and refine methodologies, including comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and discounted cashflows (DCF).
  • Contribute to the enhancement of valuation processes and methodologies.
Disputes and Claims
  • Assess financial damages and quantify losses in legal disputes or insurance claims, supported by detailed financial evidence.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare clear, concise reports documenting findings, analysis, and conclusions.
  • Present findings and expert opinions to clients, legal counsel, and regulatory authorities.
  • Support the preparation of exhibits and other legal documents for court proceedings.
Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Minimum of 2 years' proven accounts experience within a practice environment.
  • Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Professional curiosity and scepticism in reviewing financial information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in valuations, dispute support, and investigations.
  • Knowledge of corporation tax, capital gains tax, and income tax.
Personal Qualities
  • Strong professional presence and confidence.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
  • Highly confidential and ethical.
  • Organised, resilient, and self-motivated.
  • Analytical, creative, and a quick thinker.
