Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the private equity investors, the Finance Director will lead the finance function while acting as a strategic business partner to support commercial decision-making, operational performance and future growth initiatives.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic financial leadership to the Board and senior leadership team.
- Leading all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
- Delivering insightful financial analysis to support commercial and operational decision-making.
- Driving financial performance, margin improvement and operational efficiencies across the business.
- Developing robust financial controls, governance and reporting processes.
- Managing banking relationships, funding requirements and working capital.
- Producing high-quality board packs and presenting financial performance to shareholders and private equity investors.
- Supporting acquisition activity, integration projects and future exit planning where appropriate.
- Leading, developing and mentoring the finance team.
- Working closely with operational leaders to ensure finance is embedded throughout the business.
You'll ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, contracting or project-based businesses.
- Strong understanding of contract accounting, project reporting, WIP, cash flow and working capital management.
- Experience operating within a private equity-backed business is highly desirable, although candidates from entrepreneurial or high-growth environments will also be considered.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
- Experience improving financial processes, controls and reporting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence operating at Board level.
- Salary of £100,000–£120,000.
