Data Analyst

Job Title: IT Reporting & Data Analyst
Department: Information Technology
Reporting To: Director of IT
Location:  Shirley, Solihull 
Salary: £50,000
Contract Type:  6 - 9 Month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role We are looking for an experienced IT Reporting & Data Analyst to provide project and BAU (business as usual) support for all data analysis needs across the business. The successful candidate will deliver insightful solutions through report creation and data modelling, playing a key role in driving data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for all reporting and analytics requests.
  • Lead the design and maintenance of data warehouses and data storage solutions to support efficient reporting.
  • Be an expert user of Power BI, including DAX and Power Query, to maximise our data platform capabilities.
  • Design, create, and manage semantic models to ensure consistent reporting across the business.
  • Collaborate with teams to gather requirements, gain approvals, and implement recommended solutions.
  • Build and implement Power Apps to improve business efficiency.
  • Ensure data security and adherence to best practices.
  • Produce and maintain departmental documentation.
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring and critical incidents.
  • Liaise with third-party software and service providers for application and system support.
  • Manage workload effectively, balancing open incidents, BAU tasks, and project work.
  • Conduct routine system and performance monitoring, escalating issues as needed.
  • Undertake any other duties as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proficient knowledge of SQL Server, including query writing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience developing Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers.
  • Professional approach to customer service.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
Desirable:
  • Experience with Copilot.
  • Knowledge of Jet reporting.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience.
