Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for generating viable loan enquiries, developing strong referral networks, and preparing high-quality lending proposals. You will play a key role in growing deal flow while maintaining excellent relationships with borrowers and professional intermediaries.
This role involves a mix of office, home, and field-based work, with occasional early morning or evening commitments to attend networking and industry events.
Key Responsibilities as a Client Relationship Manager will include:
- Develop, grow, and maintain strong referral relationships with banks, brokers, accountants, business advisers, and other intermediaries
- Proactively generate and manage loan enquiries, building a strong pipeline of viable opportunities
- Qualify initial enquiries and guide potential borrowers through the application process
- Meet with prospective clients to assess business needs and gather information for robust credit appraisals
- Prepare loan applications for presentation to the credit sanctioning team
- Maintain accurate customer records and interpret key financial data for reporting and monitoring
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships, including portfolio monitoring and support with arrears management when required
- Promote lending services at networking events, conferences, and trade fairs
- Contribute to strategic planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional working groups
- Adhere to organisational policies, procedures, and performance frameworks
You will be a confident relationship-builder with a strong commercial mindset and experience in business development within lending, or financial services.
