The Role
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced auditor with a passion for the charity and not-for-profit (NFP) sector. As a Charity/NFP Audit Specialist (Senior Associate/Associate Manager) based in the firm’s Bristol office, you’ll take the lead on a wide range of meaningful audit engagements for some of the region’s most impactful organisations.
You’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality audit work from planning through to completion, while also helping develop and mentor more junior members of the team. It’s a client-facing, people-focused role that offers both challenge and reward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audit engagements from planning to final sign-off, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance at every stage.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with charity and not-for-profit clients, offering proactive advice and insight into their financial operations.
- Collaborate with managers and partners, contributing to continuous improvement and the delivery of a first-class service.
- Supervise and review junior staff, providing feedback, mentorship, and on-the-job training.
- Keep up to date with relevant regulations, audit standards, and sector-specific developments.
- ACA/ACCA qualified(or equivalent), with a solid background in external audit from a UK accountancy practice (Top 10, mid-tier or independent).
- Experience or strong interest in the charity and not-for-profit sector.
- A natural communicator – confident engaging with both clients and colleagues.
- Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach.
- Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 (DOE)
- Hybrid working – typically 50% office-based across the month
