We’re delighted to be supporting a well-established Top 20 accountancy firm in their search for a qualified and driven Senior Associate to join their growing Not-for-Profit Audit team in Cheltenham. The Role:
As a Senior Associate in the Not-for-Profit team, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality audits to a diverse portfolio of clients, including INGOs, grant makers, schools, academies, membership bodies, housing associations, and many Top 100 charities. You’ll work closely with managers and partners, lead on-site fieldwork, and begin to take ownership of client relationships, all while developing your expertise in the charity and third sector space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, overseeing on-site teams
- Take responsibility for audit files, reviewing junior work and delivering to budget and deadline
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong working relationships
- Prepare draft reports for review by managers, partners, and senior client stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with internal risk management and external regulatory requirements
- Coach and develop junior team members, contributing to a positive team environment
- Support proposal work and contribute to new client presentations where relevant
- Participate in firm-wide initiatives and team development activities
What You’ll Need:
- ACA, ACCA or ICAS qualified
- Experience delivering audits in a UK accountancy practice
- Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards
- Experience working with charity/NFP clients or a strong interest in the sector
- Knowledge of the Charities SORP is beneficial but not essential
- Confident communication and team leadership skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
