Audit Senior Manager

Corporate Audit Senior Manager - Manchester
 
We are supporting a leading national practice in their search for a Corporate Audit Senior Manager to join their growing Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior leadership role, managing high-profile audits across a diverse client base, while shaping the future direction of the audit team.
 
The Role
As a Senior Manager in the Corporate Audit team, you'll be responsible for leading complex audits from planning through to completion, working with both domestic and international clients, including listed businesses and large corporate groups. You'll play a key role in client relationship management, business development, and team leadership - supporting the growth of the firm while mentoring the next generation of auditors.
This is a fantastic step for an experienced audit manager looking to move into senior leadership with clear opportunities for progression.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver audits across a varied client portfolio, ensuring high-quality output within agreed budgets and deadlines.
  • Manage and develop strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and providing practical business solutions.
  • Oversee, coach, and mentor audit teams, supporting their development and ensuring effective allocation of work.
  • Present audit findings to senior stakeholders, Audit Committees and Boards.
  • Identify and manage risk, liaising with technical specialists where required.
  • Take ownership of WIP, billing, and engagement profitability.
  • Support business development activity, contributing to pitches, networking, and client growth initiatives.
  • Play an active role in driving improvements in audit efficiency and effectiveness.
About You
  • ACA, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent qualified.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles.
  • Experience managing audits for large corporates, complex groups and/or listed clients.
  • Proven track record of leading teams, coaching, and developing people.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to identify opportunities and add value to clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders.
