An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Audit Manager to join one of the South West’s leading independent accountancy practices, working with a growing and varied client base from their modern Bristol office.

Why This Role? You’ll be managing a broad portfolio of clients with turnovers ranging from £1m to £100m across sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, food and drink, education, and not-for-profit. This is a client-facing role with scope to develop your leadership, advisory, and business development skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse audit portfolio, leading audits from planning through to completion
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering strategic and commercial insight
- Oversee all aspects of service delivery including remuneration planning, group structuring, and corporate finance support
- Provide guidance on complex technical matters (UK GAAP, IFRS, Companies Act)
- Support clients through transactions including acquisitions, sales, and fundraising
- Work collaboratively with tax and advisory teams to deliver holistic client solutions
- Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting their career progression
- Play a key role in business development and pitching for new audit and non-audit work
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong audit background within a UK practice environment
- Up-to-date technical knowledge (UK GAAP, IFRSs, ISAs, Companies Act)
- Commercial awareness and strong business development instincts
- Confident, proactive and capable of working independently and as part of a wider team
- Effective people manager and team leader
