KC Group is supporting a leading Top 35 accountancy practice in the search for an Audit Manager to strengthen their healthcare and specialist sector audit team. The team provides accountancy advice across the healthcare sector, from care providers and corporate groups to not-for-profit organisations and private equity investors. Recognised for excellence, the team has won awards for its advisory and accountancy services, and is known for its dynamic, collaborative approach.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious professional to take responsibility for client portfolios, lead audit engagements, and develop advisory skills in a sector with a strong UK-wide reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully supervise and manage a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for audits, accounts, tax matters, and business advisory projects throughout the year.
- Lead audit teams through planning, fieldwork, statutory financial reporting, completion, and client reporting, including participation in board meetings.
- Liaise closely with the tax department, assisting with personal and corporate tax computations and planning.
- Undertake client visits, acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day enquiries.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach junior staff to develop skills and performance.
- Support the Corporate Finance team with specialist assignments such as acquisition advice, business disposals, raising finance, business plans, projections, and sector research.
- Review and improve internal working practices to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Maintain effective communication with Directors and Partners, providing updates on client engagements and project progress.
- Contribute to creating a vibrant, collaborative working environment where team members can thrive.
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Experience in systems controls testing, substantive and analytical review auditing techniques, consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts, and disclosures.
- Good working knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.
- Well-developed supervisory and team management skills.
- Commercially aware and client-focused with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious environment and manage multiple priorities.
