Audit and Accounts Senior – Banbury
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
 
We’re working with a well-established and growing firm in Banbury that is looking to recruit an Audit and Accounts Senior to join their collaborative and supportive team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified ACA or ACCA professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality audit and accounting services, with exposure to a broad client base across multiple sectors including property, not-for-profit, agriculture, and professional services.
 
The Opportunity:
As an Audit and Accounts Senior, you’ll be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of clients, supporting partners and managers to deliver a high standard of service. You'll also contribute to the development of more junior team members and play an active role in driving client engagement and satisfaction.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review accounts and tax work for a broad range of clients
  • Lead audit assignments both onsite and remotely with minimal supervision
  • Assist in planning and executing audit and accounting projects
  • Deliver insightful advice on accounting and taxation matters
  • Finalise and submit documentation to HMRC and clients in a timely manner
  • Mentor and review work of junior staff, providing coaching and feedback
  • Identify opportunities to add value to client relationships and internal processes
  • Maintain high standards of client communication and relationship management
  • Liaise with clients to gather required information and provide guidance on accounting systems including Xero
  • Engage in networking and occasional business development activities
What You’ll Need:
Qualifications:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (essential)
  • Degree or equivalent experience (desirable)
Experience:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice environment (essential)
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based accounting software, especially Xero (desirable)
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting, audit, and tax
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Strong IT skills with experience using accounting software
  • Ability to work to deadlines and budgets with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, organised, and adaptable
