We are working with a fast-growing, tech-enabled accountancy firm that supports ambitious entrepreneurs and private clients across the UK. With a strong emphasis on innovation, client service, and professional development, they are building a high-performing team to deliver first-class tax advisory and compliance services.
As part of this growth, an opportunity has arisen for an Associate Manager or Manager to join their Private Client team in Bristol. This position is ideal for someone with strong personal tax experience, keen to work in a modern environment that encourages collaboration, autonomy, and career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of complex private clients, including high-net-worth individuals and owner-managed businesses, providing both compliance and advisory services
- Preparing and reviewing complex self-assessment tax returns and calculating tax liabilities
- Leading client communications, including addressing outstanding queries and explaining tax positions
- Supervising and supporting junior members of the team, including oversight of their work, identifying training needs, and contributing to performance reviews
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality delivery across client portfolios
- Managing WIP and billing across your portfolio
- Corresponding with HMRC on technical matters such as enquiries and clearances
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and ensuring clients receive relevant, accurate advice
- Supporting the wider business by identifying cross-selling opportunities and contributing to the achievement of broader commercial objectives
- CTA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong background in private client tax
- Solid technical understanding of UK personal tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients and deliver high-quality advisory work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
- Experience managing and mentoring junior team members
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Competitive salary of £55,000 – £75,000, depending on experience
- Hybrid working model (up to 50% home-based across the month)
- Core hours of 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around these
