This is a vital role supporting the delivery of legal services across adult social care and mental health matters. This is a full time, temporary role, paying £25.78 per hour (negotiable dependant on experience).
Key Responsibilities of the Adult Social Care Lawyer:
- Manage a varied caseload relating to adult social care and mental health
- Conduct proceedings under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (Sections 21A & 16)
- Provide legal advice and advocacy
- Handle case management duties to ensure timely progression
- Monitor and respond to the duty inbox during the working week
- Support and mentor junior legal team members
- Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive
- Strong working knowledge of adult social care law and the Mental Capacity Act
- Able to manage complex caseloads independently
- Effective communicator with strong advocacy skills
- Previous local authority or public sector experience preferred
