Cheltenham | Full-time or Part-time | Hybrid working
We are working with a leading independent accountancy and advisory practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services to clients across the South West and beyond. Their dedicated Healthcare team specialises in advising care providers, including individual care homeowners, corporate groups, not-for-profit organisations, and private equity investors.

With continued growth in this specialist sector, they are now looking for a Senior Accounts Associate to join their friendly and collaborative team in Cheltenham. This role offers the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of clients, take on mentoring responsibilities, and develop both your technical expertise and sector knowledge.

What you’ll be doing
  • Overseeing the planning, preparation, and completion of annual accounts and corporation tax computations.
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and supporting their development.
  • Preparing and reviewing management accounts.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing proactive advice and support.
  • Assisting with smaller audits where applicable (depending on experience).
  • Considering basic tax planning opportunities for clients, with scope to expand your advisory work over time.
  • Keeping managers and partners updated on project progress.
What we’re looking for
  • ACA, CA, or ACCA qualified.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and UK corporation tax.
  • Experience working with a portfolio of clients in a practice environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Xero, and Sage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational skills.
  • Experience in audit work is an advantage but not essential.
What’s on offer
  • Competitive salary plus profit share scheme.
  • Hybrid working arrangements from central Cheltenham offices.
  • Paid parking (up to £11 per day).
  • 25 days’ holiday plus option to buy more.
  • Flexi-time and enhanced employer pension contribution.
  • Health and wellbeing benefits, including discounted gym membership, online GP appointments, mental health first aiders, and an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
  • Regular firm-wide and team social events.
  • Clear career progression pathways with opportunities to grow within the business.
If you’re an experienced accounts professional looking to take the next step in your career within a growing and supportive sector-specialist team, we’d love to hear from you.
