We are working with a leading independent accountancy and advisory practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services to clients across the South West and beyond. Their dedicated Healthcare team specialises in advising care providers, including individual care homeowners, corporate groups, not-for-profit organisations, and private equity investors.
With continued growth in this specialist sector, they are now looking for a Senior Accounts Associate to join their friendly and collaborative team in Cheltenham. This role offers the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of clients, take on mentoring responsibilities, and develop both your technical expertise and sector knowledge.
What you’ll be doing
- Overseeing the planning, preparation, and completion of annual accounts and corporation tax computations.
- Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and supporting their development.
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing proactive advice and support.
- Assisting with smaller audits where applicable (depending on experience).
- Considering basic tax planning opportunities for clients, with scope to expand your advisory work over time.
- Keeping managers and partners updated on project progress.
- ACA, CA, or ACCA qualified.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and UK corporation tax.
- Experience working with a portfolio of clients in a practice environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Xero, and Sage.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational skills.
- Experience in audit work is an advantage but not essential.
