A well-established business in Aldridge is seeking a confident and capable Accountant to take full ownership of their day-to-day finance function.
This is a varied role where you'll be trusted to manage everything from month-end journals and VAT returns to cash flow forecasting and supplier payments. It's ideal for someone looking for autonomy in a busy, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing banking processes including supplier payments and factoring reconciliations
- Allocating customer payments and reconciling transactions in Xero
- Drawing down funds, updating credit insurance, and handling trade finance
- Preparing and posting monthly journals (payroll, prepayments, stock, accruals, depreciation, deferred income)
- Handling UK and Irish VAT returns and associated payments
- Cash flow management including forecasting, tracking spend, and managing trade loans
- Liaising with payroll providers and booking salary payments
- AAT qualified or QBE
- Proven experience in a similar accounting role
- Proficient in Xero
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Professional communication skills
